HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926_09_25 Town Board Minutes SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD TOWN OF MAMARONE'CK held September 25, 1926. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 2,40 P.M. PR29ENT: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins,Howell, Leeds Town Clerk Sherman Counsellor Gamble The Town Clerk stated that the meeting was called pursuant to notice duly advertised to consider applications for building permits which had been denied by the Building Commission as being in violation of the Zoning Ordinances. After considering and discussing in full the various applications and plans for building permits before the Board, and at which time a Committee from the Larch mont Knolls Association was present objecting to plan f858, for various reasons, for the erection of an apartment holise at Boston Post Road and Alder. Road, it was upon motion duly seconded unanimously RESOLITED:441HEREAS the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck has duly advertised pursuant to law, apublic meeting for l — thepurpose of considering certain 1 applications(therein stated) made under the Zoning Ordinance of the unincorporated p,rt of the Town of Mamaroneck, which applications are now pending; and WIIEREAS the said Town Boardhaving held said hearing and those parties appearing for and in opposition to the granting of v' said applications as provided under said Zoning Ordinance and after due consideration, THEREFORE, BE IT •RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck sitting jointly as a Board of Appeals and as a Town Board do and hereb:C does grant the following appeals from the decision of the Building Commission, which decision is herein reversed and does hereby consent to the granting of the following respective applications, subject ineach respective_ case` to'the specific conditions and safeguards therein stated, to wit:® 1. Application #856 of Alexander Meffert for the erection of a garage and showroom on the south side of the Boston Post Road Dillon Park, provided said building is erected 10 feet from the street line. 2. Application #835 of James H. McCarthy for the erection of a private dwelling on Glen Road provided that the said building is erected 23 feet from the street line of Glen. Road. 3. Application of Frank G. Gironda for the installation of a gasoline tank to replace the present one nov: in use on his property at Beach. Street, provided the gasoline tank is erected 25 feet from the street line. 4. Application #808 of Stanley R. Miller for the erection of a private dwelling on Fernwood Road, provided the said building is erected 17 feet from the street line on Fernwood Road. 5. Application #884 of the Harimo Corporation for the erection of a private duelling on Alden Road, provided the said building is erected 15 feet from the street line on Alden Road. 6. Application # 810 of the Harimo Corporation for the erection of a private duelling on Alden Road, provided the said building is erected 15 feet from the street line on Alden Road. 7. Application #868 of AntoniolOperato for the erection of a private dwelling at the corner of Chatsworth Avenue and Fern Road, provided the said building is erected 38 feet from the street line on the `hats%orth Avenue side and 20 feet from the street line on Fern Road side. S. Application #837 of E.J.Becl-er for the erection of a private dwelling on Rockings tone Avenue, provided the said building is erected 25 feet from the street line on Rockingstone Avenue, And it vas further RESOLVED,that the following applications be laid over for future consideration, to suit: 1. Alteration application #36 of Charles Schoonmaker for the erection of a two story garage on Locust Street. 2. Application #861 of G.J.Campbell for the erection of a -private duelling on the north side of Forest Avenue, corner of Bungalow Road. 3. Application #858 of Alden House,lnc. for the erection of an apartment house on the north side of the Boston Post . Road, corner ofAlden Road and Copley Road, and it was further RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to certify the action of this Town Board to the -Building Commission. The Supervisor reported that Mr. Robert E.Carrick had tendered his resignation as a member of the Building Commission. After due consideration, it was upon motion duly seconded unanimously RESOLVED that the resignation of Mr. Robert E. Carrick, as Building Commissioner of the Town of Mamaroneck be placed on file and that the same be accepted with a vote of regret. Ti The Supervisor further reported that in accordance v�ith the poFer vested in him., he had appointed - Mr. Morton P. Sarafity as a member of the Building `ommission of the To°vin of Mamaroneck, and he requested the Board's approval of his action. Upon motion duly seconded, it vsas unanimously RESOLVED that the he Lion of the Supervisor in appointing Mr. Morton P . Sarafity a member of the Building Commission of the To,an of Mamaroneck be and the same hereby is ratified and approved. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 5 P.11. Tdrn Clergy. I i
