MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD
TOW OF MAMARONECS
held July 21st, 1926.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
-- Burton at 9.30 P.M,
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton
Justices Boyd, Collins.Howell, Leeds
Town Clerk Sherman
Counsellor Gamble.
Upon motion it was voted to dispense with the
reading; of minutes of meetings not yDet approved.
Mr. Tehoomaker appeared before. the Board
requesting a building permit for the erection of a build-
ing on Locust Avenue.
The Supervisor appointed the following Committee
for investigation and report: Supervisor Burton, Justices
Leeds and Collins.
Several people appeared before the Board request-
ing permidsion for the erection of signs on their property.
No action was taken upon these requests.
A communication from the Weaver Street Fire
Company was received and read requesting that action be
taken in the altering and repairing of the apparatus floor
of the Fire House. The communication was ordered placed
on file and noted in the minutes.
A delegation of firemen were present at the
meeting and demanded that immediate action be taken on the
floor question.
The matter was referred back to the Committee to
take up with the Architect and a Committee from the Fire
Company, and submit their report to this Board.
The Supervisor reported that a claim had been
presented by Messrs. Clark, Close & Davis, Special Counsel,
inthe sum of $500, for legal services rendered in connect-
ion with special legislation. The Supervisor asked that
the claim be approved.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the action of the Supervisor
in approving a bill for services of Special
Counsel in the sum of $500. for legal
services rendered in connection with an
advice and the drafting of special legislat-
ion covering certain Town matters be and
the same hereby is ratified and approved.
The Supervisor reported that there were no funds
available with which to pay for the plumbing and heating
in connection with the reconstructing and altering of the
Police House and he suggested that provision be made to
finance the cost thereof by the issuance and sale of
temporary sertifieates of indebtedness.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was upon Roll
Call, unanimously, RESOLVED
WHEREAS, in connection with the
reconstruction and altering of the
Police House at Edgewood Read in the
Town of Mamaroneck in accordance with
the drawings and specifications prepared
by Messrs. Eggers & Mink, Associated
Areh ests, the plumbing and heating
work}t obe dome by McGeough Bros. for
the sum of $2, 607.65; and
WHEREAS, said amount is to be assessed,
levied and collected upon the police
district of the Town of Mamaroneck
from the next regular budget of the Town
upon the taxable property situate within
said police district of said Town;
same to be collected with town taxes on
April 1, 1927; and
WHERRAS, the Supervisor has reported that
there are no funds available with which
to pay for said work, NOW, THEREFORE, be it
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and empowered in
accordance with law to borrow upon the
faith and credit of the Town of Mamaroneck
" the sum of not to exceed $2, 607. 540 in
anticipation of the taxes to be collected
on April 10 1927, levied against the taxalbe
real property situate within the police
district of the Town of Mamaroneck which
comprises the unincorporated portions of the
Town(without the Villages of Larehmont
and Mamaroneck); and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and empowered to
execut® a temporary certificate or certificates
of indebtedness in the total amount of not
to exceed $2, 607465, which shall bear
interest at the rate of not to exceed 6%
per annum payable at such time or times as
the Supervisor may fix, not exceeding
however, 18 months from the data thereof;
and to dispose of said temporary certificate
or certificates of indebtednese for not less
than the par value thereof; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk
be and they hereby are authorized and
empowered to sign and attest, respectively,
the aforesaid temporary certificate or
certificates of indebtedness in the anew of
and on behalf of the Town of Mamaroneck, and
to execute such other and further documents
as may be necessary to affect the sale thereof.
The Supervisor reported that there were no funds
available with which to pay for the arehitects0 fees in
connection°"with the reconstructing and altering of the
police house and he suggested that provision be made to
finance the cost thereof by the issuance and sale of
temporary certificates of indebtedness.

Upon motion duly seeonded, it was upon Roll Call,
unanimously, RESOLVED,
WHEREABii in connection with the recon-
struction and altering of the police
house on Edgewood Road in the Town of
Mamaroneck in accordance with the
drawings and specifications prepared by
Messrs. Eggers & Mink, Associated
Arehitecta,a claim for arehitectsm fees
in the sum of $602,34 having been
presented for said work, and
WHEREAS, said amount is to be assessed,
levied and collected upon the police
district of the Town of Mamaroneck from
tiLe next regular budget of the Town upon
the taxable property situate within the
said police district of said Town; same
to be collected with Town taxes on April

WHEREAS, the Supervisor has reported that

hereby is authorized and empowered in
