HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926_05_12 Town Board Minutes MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD TOWN OF MAMARONECK held May 12, 1926. In the absence of the Supervisor, the meeting was called to order by Justice Boyd at 2.30 P.M. PRESENT: Justices Boyd, Collins,Howell & Leeds Town Clerk Sherman. The Clerk advised the Board that this was a Special Meeting called for the purpose of receiving bids for the alteration and reconstruction of the apparatus floe' of the Weaver Street Fire House. Upon notion duly seconded, it one RESOLVED, that the call of the meeting; be approved. The Chairman state', that the next order of business was the opening of any bids which may be received, The Clerk advised the Board that no bids had been received by him. At the request of the Fire House Committee the Clerk read a communication which the had received from the Weaver Street Fire Company objecting to than plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Board for the alteration and reconstruction of the apparatus floor of the 'Heaver Street Fire House. After discussion upon the recommendation of the Fire Committee and upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the entire matter be laid on the table. The Clergy: read a communication from the Board of Appeals advising that at a meeting of their Board held on April 290 1926, the following Res6lutions were adapted Application No. 166® RESOLVED, that the Board of Appeals recommend to the Toga Board that the application of William J. Sterling to erect a two-car garage on the northwest corner of Edgewater Place and Itaust Terrace be denied. Application No. 167® RESOLVED, that the Board of Appeals recommend to the Town Board that the application of C.A.Birch-Field to alter a building on the north side of Valley Road,within 30 feet of the street line be granted and the decision of the Building Co7mnission reversed. Application No. 1613® RESOLVED, that the application of J.J®Saxelby to erect y9ne family d=welling on he northeast corner of Forest Avenue and Rockingstcne Avenue be denied® PIr® H® Mitchell and Several other parties appeared before she Board in connection with application yo. 167, 1,wit. C.A.Birch-Field,hereinab®ve referred to® and in connection to the actions of the Board of Appeals and 2resented a petition signed by twenty-five owners of property in the section contiguous to the streets in -- question. Mo. Mitchell and several other interested parties spoke in opposition to the granting of the application and requested that the Town Board either deny the application or refer it back to the Board of Appeals for farther consider- ation. Upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLITED, that this Board defer action on the aforesaid application No. 167, at this time and that the matter be referred back to the Board of Appeals with the request that said Board give the matter farther consideration in the light of the Opposi- tion to the granting of said permit. M r. C. Mink and Mr. C. C.Nerritt appeared and presented a. sketch for a proposed Town Hall to be located, in connection with the Fire House, at Edgewood. Road and Weaver Street. After inspection by the Board they were advised to submit more detailed information for this Board's considera- tion. on. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 3.36 P-M- �5 c�>°n Clerk® L
