The meeting alas called to order by Supervisor Burton at 3 P. M. Presents- Supervisor Burton Justicas Boyd,. Leeds and Messe-rsmith Town Clerk Marvin The presence was also noted of Counselor Gamble and Special Counselor Gagliardi. The following communication addressed to the Town Board was received and ordered spread upon the minutes: GRATFFULI,Y ACKNOVIL71,DGING AND THPU KIITG YOU FOR YOUR KIND EXPRESSION OF SYV- PATHY. Mir. and Mrs. W. Y. Messersmith. Justice Yessersmith again presented to the Board the appli- cation addressed to tle Public Service Comission of the State of Yew York for an order reducing the commutation rates charged by the N. Y. N. H. & H. Railroad Company which application had been ordered laid over at a meeting on February 4th. After discussion the matter was. again ordered laid over. The Supervisor announced that at the present time it was appropriate for the Board to make the appointment of an Assessor to succeed the late Sohn H. hurray and asked if there were any liamination S.= Justice Boyd nominated Barney Epstein, Justice Leeds nominated Howell F. Dobbs and Clerk Marvin nominated William F. Carey. The Board voted by roll call on the above nominations as follows: Supervisor Burton - Mr. Carey Justice Boyd - Mr. Epstein Justice Leeds - Mr. Dobbs Justice Messersmith - Mr. Carey Town Clerk Marvin - Mr. Carey Justice Boyd thereupon moved and Justice Leeds seconded the motion that the election be made unanimous. Upon roll call. the Board unanimously PXSOI;V'FD, that William F. Carey be and he hereby is appointed the Assessor to serve the unexpired term of the late John H. Murray, the appointment to take effect upon his qualifying as prescribed by law, to be paid the same salary in the same manner as paid his predecessor. Upon motion, duly made and seconded, the Board unanimously resolved to adjourn at 4 P. X. Town Clerk.
