held December 2nd, 1931®
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at
10 :25 P. I.
Present: Supervisor Burton
Justices Boyd, Collins , Leeds and Messersmith
Town Clerk Marvin
The presence was also noted of Counselor Gamble.
The Clerk presented the minutes of the meeting of October
28th which were ordered approved as printed..
The Clerk reminded the Board that the appointment of a Do;
Enumerator is to be made in the month of December and offered the name
of John A. Forrar who, he said, had done a very good job in the year
1931 as Enumerator.
Upon motion by the Clerk seconded by Justice Collins , it was
unanimously
RESOLVED, that J. A. Forrar be and he hereby is
appointed Dog Enumerator for the Town of Mamaroneck
for the year 1932.
A communication dated November 28th was received from the
Lower Hudson River Association in regard to action by the Board of
Supervisors on the New York Central Railroad commutation rates. The
communication was ordered received and referred to the Supervisor.
A communication dated November 30th was received from D. C.
Howe, Chief-Captain of the Weaver Street Fire Company, in regard to
the purchase of' fir= hose. stating that 500 feet instead of 250 feet
was necessary owing to recent breakage. The communication reeom-
mended the acceptance or the bid of t'ne F'ureka Fire Hose Company at
$1.15 a foot, the lowest figure received and also the type of hose
recommended by the Fire Company as being the best.
The communication also requested the purchase of four
carpenter lights with brackets. The Fire House committee recommended
the acceptance of the bid of Eureka Hose Company as above outlined
and also the purchase of the carpenter lights.
Upon motion by Justice Leeds seconded by Justice Miessersmith
it was upon roll call unanimously
RESOLVED, that the matter of the purchase of the
above equipment be and it hereby is referred to
the Clerk with power to purchase the same in
accordance with the terms outlined.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board unanimously
resolved to adjourn at 10:35 P.M. to meet again at the call of the
chair to take up such matters as may properly come before it at that
time .
