Y. held November 2nd, 1931. — The meeting was called to order by Supervisor 3urton at 5:50 P. Y. Present ;: Supervisor 3urton Justices Boyd, Collins, Leeds and T:!essersmith Town Clerk Marvin Also present at this meeting was Mr. Ralph A. Gamble , Town Counsel. A delegation from the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Humane Society consisting of Mrs. Charles H. Reisig, Mrs. F. Warren Greene, and Mrs. E. R. Van Sickle ; appeared before the Board to inquire if the Board was ready to take any action in regard to the request of the Society for a Dog Shelter. Counselor Gamble rdported that he had investigated the law on the subject and advised that the town was in a position to aid in the care and maintenance of such a shelter. Supervisor Burton declared that the town owned certain land near County Road 67-2 which it had taken back for non-payment of taxes and which he thought would be suitable for a location for a shelter. The Board concurred with him in agreeing that this land -- could well be used for such purpose. Mrs. Reisig stated that the Society was willing to erect a building provided the town would contribute towards Its care and maintenance. Counselor Gamble advised that a suitable contract should be drawn up between the town and the 3oard of Directors of the Sooty whereby the Society would obtain the use of the Town land and the Torun would agree to contribute towards the care and maintenance of the building. After discussion it was upon motion by Justice Messersmith seconded by the Clerk, upon roll call unanimously RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Counsel be and they hereby are authorized, empowered and directed to prepare a contract between the Town and the Larches nont-Yamaroneck Humane Society covering the erections care and maintenance of a Shelter for dogs and other animals and that this contract be submitted to this Board and to the Board of Directors of the Larchmont- Mamaroneck Humane Society for their approval. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board unanimously resolved to adjourn at 6 :15 P.
