-- The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 2x40 P. V.
Present: Supervisor Burton
Justices Boyd, Collins and Leeds

Assessors Maddock and Prlulcahy
The presence was also noted of Counselor Gamble.
The Clerk stated that the meeting was called to order
pursuant to sections. 7 and 26 , Chapter 232 of the Laws of 1904,
together with Chapter 599 of the Laws of 1920 as amended, being
a joint meeting of the 'Town Board and the Board of Assessors of
the Town of Mamaroneck- to compile , select, make and verify the
grand and trial jury lists for the year 1931.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
RFSOLVTD, that the call of the meeting
be approved.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
R7SOIV7D, that the Board of Assessors be and
-- they hereby are requested and directed to compile
a tanta.tive list of qualified grand and trial
jurors for approval and adoption, on or before
September 30th, 1931, the same to be submitted
to this Board for revision, correction and addition,_
as the Town Board may &eem fit; and be it further
RTS01 r! , that the list be presented for final
approval at a joint meeting of the Town Board and
the Board of Assessors on September a5th, 1931,at
2 P. V.
The Board of Assessors thereupon adjourned and the
members of the Torn Board met together as a To=rn Board in what the
Board unanimously resolved would be the first regular meeting of
the month in place of the customary meeting date of September 2nd
The Clerk presented the minutes of the 'meetings of
July 9th, 15th and 21st which were unanimcusly approved as printed.
Assessor John Yaddock addressed the Board and requested
the approval of the action of the Board of Assessors in employing
Ers. Dorothy A. Stephens as temporary employee during the time
Assessor Carey was absent from the office while engaged in assembling
data for assessment eoualization purposes and that her claim in the
amount of ,';;84.00 for services rendered at the rate of 14.00 a day be
approved.
Upon motion by Justice Boyd, seconded by Justice Collins ,
it was unanimously
=OIV D, that the claim of Mrs. Dorothy A.
Stephens as above deacribed, be and it hereby
is approved and ordered paid. '

A communication was received from Vincent Cullen dated
August 31st, requesting that the assessment on his property for
the Weaver Street Sidewalk be removed on the grounds that his
property is not located on deaver Street but on the corner of
Cooper Lane and Iiyrtle Boulevard.
The matter was referred to Special Counselor Gagliardi
who handled the ',,,Teaver Street Sidewalk proceedings.
A communication was received from 'William S. Hadawav,
president of the -, eatc'nester County Historical Society , dated
-- August 19t'a, inquiring if it would be possible for the toi,Tn to
place the original deed of the purchase of the Town of L:amaroneck
on file in the Archives of that Society in the Court House at
'White Plains.
After considerable discussion it :ryas upon motion by
Justice Leeds seconded by Justice Boyd, upon roll call unanimously
RFSOLVTD, that the communication of ?-ir. Hadaway
be received, placed on file and that the Clerk
be and he hereby is authorized,_ empo.-�ered and
directed to have made a photograph or photostat,,
at his discretion, of this deed; that he then
have it restored in a suitable manner; and that
he then have it re-photographed or re-photostat-t.ed
at his discretion.
The Clerk reported that ',Is had been requested by the
Assistant delfare Officer to request permiss=ion for the Toren
Welfare Officer to purchase a typevrritar. The mat was as ordered
referred to Justice Leeds for report on the meeting on September
3rd.
Counselor Gamble - reported that hearings would be held
before the Public Service Commission on the application of the City
of I'elrr Rochelle and others for a reduction in the electricity rates
of the iWcstchester Lighting Company and inquired if the Board
desired him to attend these hearings and other meetings on the
same matter.
After discussion it was upon motion by the Clerk, seconded
by Justice Leeds , upon roll call unanimously
=01VTD, WHRRRAS a petition has been filed by
the City of r.ie,r Rochelle and others :rite the
Public Service Commission requesting that faLr
and reasonable elcct-rieity rates be charged by
the ;'iestchester Fighting Company; therefore be it
RB'SOLV^D, that the Torn of Hamareneek join in this
petition for fair and reasonable electricity rates
and that the participation of the Torn of Idamaroneck
therein be duly noted; and be it further
RT'SOLFID, that Counselor Gamble and Supervisor Burton
be authorized to attend any hearings before the
Public Service Commission and any other meetings in
connection with this matter.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board unanimously
resolved to adjourn at 4 Po LT.
