The meeting was called to erde_ by Supervisor Burton at 3;30 - P. Y. Present: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Leeds and Etessersmith Town Clerk Marvin The presence was also noted of Counselor Ralph A. Gamble. Justice Leeds suggested that in lieu of having the minutes of previous meetings read to the Board, copies of the minutes be sent to each meraber for his perusal prior to the meetings in order to save time and to allow the members to study the minutes more carefully. The Clerk said he thought this plan a very good one. After discussion it was upon motion by Justice Teeds, seconded by Justice Hessersmith unanimously RFSOLVFD, that hereafter, in place of having the minutes of -previous meetings read at reg- ular meetings of the Town Board,, copies of the minutes, be scr.t to each member so that they may be approved. without public reading, to- gether with any corrections or additions which the members deem necessary. A claim was received from Counselor Gamble in the amount. of 500.00 for services rendered in connection with the iesue of X198,000.00 Water Bonds sold on February 19th, 1930. Counsel ex- plained that at -the last rai.nute he had been requested to take over this work in place of "r. Esser who had originally been retained to handle it, owing to Yr. Esser's illness and absence from town. Upon motion by Justice Yessersmith, seconded by Justice Leeds, it was upon roll call unanimously P7 SO1=D, that the claim of Counselor Gamble in the amount of j500.00 as described above, be and it hereby is approved and ordered paid. A corrj,LUj4cation was received from Errs. A. Sterling Smith of 8;4294 ';heaver Street dated April 20th in regard to the noisy operation of buses on Vleaver Street. The Clerk was directed to write the County Transportation Company concerning this matter and to so notify Mrs. Smi th. A communication was received from the I'amaroneck Village ISanager League dated April 14th in regard to the conduct of Rocco Piigliaccio, Chairman of the Board of Flection Inspectors of the First Election District during the recent village election. The communication requested that Lr. 1igliaccio be not appointed an Inspector at the town elections in view of his conduct at village elections. The com- munication was ordered received and placed on file® The report of the Town Clerk for the month of T..arch was ordered received and placed on file. 109 A communication was received from the T`amaroneck All Stars re- questing permission to use the Town Fall for their meetings. The Board directed the Clerk to notify the 311 Stars that the permission requested would be granted upon the condition that the town is held free and clear of all liability to persons and/or property in the event of any injury to persons and/or property on the premises, in consideration of the fact that the use of the hall is grantee: free of charge. The Clerk inquired what the town proposed, to do this year in -- regard to the annual steps for the abatement of mosquitos. The Clerk was directed to write the County Department of health to see what action it intended to take. Counselor Gamble reported in connection with the tax matter raised by Ex.- J. P. Broomell concerning a double-assessment. Upon recommendation of Counselor Gamble it was upon motion by Justice Boyd; seconded by Justice Leeds upon roll call unanimously RFSOINYD, v.tiF'RFAS, John P. Broomell, as attorney for Isobel Wietzel, who is the owner of Lot No. 7 in Block 94, Section 8 on the Assessment Iuiap of the Town of Lamaroneck, has presented a petition to this Board in regard to a tax sale on October 6th, 1902, in the amount of $2.35, which appears in the County Treasurer's office against Lot 131, Waverly Subdivision of Grand Park, and WHEREAS, the records of the receiver of Taxes do not disclose any such sale , and WHEREAS, the petitioner is desirous of having said tax sale cancelled and as it is apparently impossible to determine whether the records of the County Treasurer or those of the Receiver of Taxes are correct, said petitioner has offered to pay this amount of said item in satisfaction of the same , the acceptance of which offer is recommended by the Receiver of Taxes, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Receiver of Taxes be and he hereby is instructed to place the aforesaid tax sale upon his books of record and that he be authorized to accept the face amount, to wait, $2.33 in full satisfaction �t__�ereof, and to mark the same paid and cancelled�Co thereafter issue whatever Certificate or Certificates may be necessary so that said tax sale as shown on the records of the County Treasurer's office may be marked cancelled. Counselor Gamble also reported that he had been requested by the Hurray Development Company , Inc. , and by Monts- Smithson as Counsel of the Village of Larchmont, to investigate certain tax matters which were thereupon referred to him for reportoand recommendation. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board unanimously re- solved to adjourn at 5:35 P. M. Town Clerk.
