4::) REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK
CONSERVATION ADVISORY COMMISSION
A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Conservation Advisory Commission was held on
Thursday, September 25, 1975, at the Weaver Street Firehouse, Larchmont, New York.
CALLED TO ORDER:
The chairman called the meeting to order at 8: 15 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Members present: Mr. Amlicke
Mrs. Munzer
Mrs. Kennelly
Mr. Hohberg
Also present: Mr. Emmanuelson, Environmental Consultant
Mr. Leddy, Ranger custodian

MINUTES:
1. BUDGET
There was a general discussion and approval of the Budget with a copy attached.
2. NATURAL RESOURCES INVENTORY
The wetlands total will appear on page four and a copy of the open space inven-
tory will be attached. What CAC has to submit to the D.E.C. will be reported by Mr. Gunsalus
at the next meeting.
3. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RECYCLING
The red and white sign, "Paper Pick-up Tomorrow", will be relocated in the square.
POSTERS- Commission members volunteered to block out the old dates and insert,
pick-up will be the first and third Wednesday of each month.
,C ALUMINUM- Barrels will be set out for recycling deposits.
4. WETLANDS AND WATER COURSES
Section 208- Mrs. Fredston will be recommended by Mrs. Helwig and Mr. Amlicke
at the next C.A.C. meeting to serve on the Citizen Advisory Commission for Long Island
CIA:the South Basin representatives.
5. WATER MONITORING
The Westchester County Dept. of Public Health will check the coliform count in
the East Creek and the oil concentration of Pinebrook and Sheldrake was reported to the
County. The Westchester County Dept. of Public Health requests further reports on the
Pinebrook and Sheldrake. The test procedures will coincide with eachother, as explained
by Mr. Hohberg.
6. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARDS
Larchmont Planning met on September 16 and discused the use of the nursery for
indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Mrs. Johnson will report the results at the next meeting.
7. LAND USE PLANNING AND HOUSING
The population density figures will be on the maps. A report within the next
couple of months will be made on the ballot proposition 1 of housing. •
8. PARKS, CEMETARIES AND CONSERVATION AREAS
Mr. Leddy will report on the Life Center cleanup recommendations. The Barker
and Quaker Cemetaries have been completed. The Larchmont Resivoir bridge is being dismantled
and the steel is being repaired and painted.
Premium Marsh Conservation Area- Mr. Leddy reported that we are installing
baracades to prevent dumping. We are in litigation with a neighbor.
Dematis Property- He would like to purchase some conservation property. The
letter was turned over to Mr. Johnston.
9. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Paper Pick-up- For the Town of Mamaroneck, paper pick up will be the 1st and
3rd Wednesday of each month. Flyers were delivered by High School students concerning
this matter. Ten were given to each student to be given out to their neighbor's.
41:1) Paper Collection in School- Mrs. Kennelly reported that there should be a paper
collection in school. The paper is now being burned. There will be a meeting with Mr. Joe
Downey on September 29, concerning this. Mrs Kennelly will report the results at the next
meeting.
10. MONTHLY C.A.C. ARTICLE
Lynn Groh will write a monthly article for C.A.C. in the Daily Times. We will
r�'rer to Mr. Irwin at the next meeting for an article on a monthly basis.

11. MISCELLANEOUS
Bicentenial Comittee- We will meet with John Forest to determine the distri-
bution of trees and also their price.
