The meeting commenced at 8:05 P.M. Members Present: Kevin Ryan, Chairman Charles Bernstein Susan Cavalieri Richard Coico Sandy Feldman Michael Scheffler Mary Anne Johnson, Emeritus © Others Present: Susan Barrows Leslie Blank, Central School Cub Scouts Phyllis Bers, Larchmont Garden Club Mary Feldtmose, Coastal Zone Management Commission James G. Johnson, Friends of the Reservoir Claudia Ng, Environmental Coordinator Judy Spikes, Sound View News Glynne Woolfender, Citizens For A Quieter Larchmont Suzanne A. Zully, Citizens For A Quieter Larchmont Rene' Rathschmidt, Recording Secretary ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS Approval of Minutes - The Minutes for February 19, 1990 were approved. Next Meeting - The next meeting has been scheduled for April 12, 1990. EARTH DAY FAIR 1970/1990 The Earth Day Fair has been scheduled for April 22, 1990 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Larchmont Reservoir. The rain relocation site will be at the Murray Avenue School. Topics such as publicity, site planning and a list of potential activities were discussed. Several additional responsibilities © were distributed. Since food vendors will not be allowed to sell goods at the fair other alternatives were suggested. A coordinator will be assigned to GAC MINUTES - 3/15/90 • investigate the possibilities. Mary Feldtmose, member of the Coastal Zone Management Commission (CZMC), attended the meeting and informed the CAC that the CZMC has planned to combine efforts with Riverwatch in order to produce a presentation for the Fair. Also at this time an additional meeting of the Earth Day Fair 1970/1990 was scheduled for March 29, 1990. CITIZENS FOR A QUIETER LARCHMONT Glynne Woolfander and Suzanne A. Zully, members of Citizens for a Quieter Larchmont (CQL) , attended the meeting and expressed interest in participating in the Earth Day Fair activities. Ms. Woolfander then went on to explain the main purpose of their visit. She noted that CQL was interested in obtaining the CAC's support for their organization. She said that the CQL considers itself to be an environmental group concerned with noise levels and the harmful side effects that noise pollution can produce. Ms. Woolfander and Ms. Zully stressed the need for regulations concerning leaf blowers and distributed articles and newsletters. Kevin Ryan assured Ms. Woolfander that the CAC would consider her request. THE REMAINING AGENDA ITEMS WERE TABLED DUE TO THE LATENESS OF THE HOUR. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M. -2-
