IS Next Meeting - The next meeting has been scheduled for May 17, 1990. Ill4 EARTH DAY FAIR 1970/1990 The majority of the meeting centered on preparations for the Earth Day Fair. Many residents attended who were prepared to volunteer where ever they were needed. Sandy Feldman and Michael Scheffler, co-chairpersons of the event, ran through the schedule of activities and stressed upon areas which where in need of fine-tuning. Some of which were: publicity, the 40 arrangements for a key note speaker, refreshments, site planning, and financing. CAC MINUTES 4/12-90 Publicity was addressed by Charles Bernstein who said that he and Herbert 1110 Calman had distributed flyers in establishments along Mamaroneck Avenue and that they have planned to cover more areas during the week. Kevin Ryan suggested giving copies of the flyers to the volunteers present in order to assure that all possible areas are saturated. Kevin Ryan agreed to announce the key note speaker at the opening ceremony. Sandy Feldman produced a map of the Larchmont Reservoir and site planning was then discussed in length. Activities were tentatively assigned areas. Claudia Ng mentioned that the possibility of a dance show had diminished because the head of the dance troop had inspected the grounds of the Reservoir and had not found an area which would be appropriate for the type of show she planned to preform. The discussion then turned to the topic of refreshments. Kevin Ryan said that he had investigated several possibilities which had not turned out to be fruitful. Michael Scheffler asked the volunteers as to whether they had any suggestions and Ms. Scragg offered some suggestions and her time. Financing of the event was then discussed and Mr. Briganti, a volunteer resident, suggested asking the Kwanis Clubs and VfW's in the areas to contribute. All agreed that this was a excellent idea. Mr. Briganti was then recruited to go to these establishments and ask for contributions. Actual costs of the events and supplies were detailed by Ms. Ng so all would know approximately how much would need to be contributed. Other incidentals were mentioned and their remedies agreed upon. The hour had become late therefore, the remaining agenda items were tabled until next meeting. Adjourned: 10:15 P.M. -2-
