The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 18:15 & A

The presence was also noted of Counselor Gamble.
The Clerk read a hatter from Mr, G. F. Hoag, Engineer of
the Suburban Division of the New York Fire insurance Rating
Organization, referring to the fire protection situation of Dillon
Park. The letter s`,ated. a-

Larchmont was very inadequate ;
b® That either a satisfactory Fire Company be provided.
for this section or Contract be made with Larchmont or New
Rochelle for protection or that the section be included in the
Weaver Street Fire District,
Mr. Hoag who was present in person gave a brief oral
explanation of his request The Clerk suggested that Dillon
Park obtain its water from Westchester Joint Water Works, Noe. 1
rather than from Larch ont which ch has no interest in this section.

Justices Leeds,, llessersmith and Collins.
A communication from Captain Ca Dm Bray of the 7eaver
Street Pipe Company submitted., in accordance with the recent
request of the Board, a ne`.:i inventory of property in the Town of
Mamaroneck at Fire Headquarters , Weaver Street and 7dge rood Road.
The communication and inventory were ordered received a&«l
placed on file.
A request from Mamaroneck .Past Nos 20 American Legion '..'.,
for the usual appropriation to help the Post defray the expenses
in connection. with its Nemorial Day services was received and
upon motion, duly made and seconded upon roll call unanimously
R SGLUD, that the request of the Mamaroneck
Post No. 90 American Legion for the usual
appropriations for its Memorial Day Services ,
be and the same hereby is granted as provided
in the budget.
The Clerk read a letter from Tins, Frank F. Barnes ,, 104
Murray Avenue complaining about e.he unpleasant Conduct of her
neiEhbors and stating that two families live in one house in a
one-family house zone.. The utter was referred to the Chief of
Police.
The request of Gerardo Olveiro for permission to open
a Billiard Parlor in the Florence Building, Myrtle Boulevard,
Larcbmont, was again presented to the Board by the Clerk who
reported that the Building Commission hat investigated the applic-
ant and had been friable to find any objection tc him or the grant-
ing of the request. Mr. Hm J. Breuer, Chairman of the Building
Commission, who was present said orally that the Building Inspector
had examined the building and found it suitable for such purposes.
The request was referred to the Clerk for disposition.
The reports of the Receiver of Taxes for the months of
Earch and April were received and ordered placed on file.
Captain G. D, Bray of the Weaver Street Fire Company
appeared in person in regard to his recommendation contained in
a letter previously received by the Board, urging the addition of
two more paid firemen for the Weaver Street Company. He said he
wished to have Mr. Hoag speak as an expert on this matter and
explain to the Board why the two additional men were necessary.
Mr. Hoag, saying that he spoke as a private citizen and
friend of Captain Bray rather than as a member of the N® Y. Fire
Insurance Rating Organization, declared it was essential for
adequate fire protection that both pumpers go to every building
fire in the Town in addition to the hook and ladder. At present
only ome jumper goes to the average fire unless the fire is in an
apartment house. Witt only two .:aid drivers on duty at one time ,
there is no one availabe to drive the third machine , he pointed out,
He spoke of what other departments in Westchester County are doing
in this connection, and the Clerk read a report which he had been
directed to make at a previous meeting giving the number of paid
firemen, the number of pieces of apparatus , hours , salaries , etc. t
in other fire departments.
After further discussion the matter was referred to a
committee composed of Justices Leeds, Messersmith and Collins.
