Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY 10543. MEMBERS PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT: Doris Shaw Block, Chair Stephen V. Altieri — Town Administrator Stephen Bartell Abby Katz— Town Board Member Donald Sutherland Lt. Paul Creazzo — Police Department Camille Odierna Kimberly Larsen Robyn Nichinsky Robert Herbst • Review of Minutes of April 26, 2017 Correspondence from Greq Keefer - Perking on Palmer Avenue around Driveways: At the January Traffic Committee meeting Mr. Keefer's letter was discussed in which he stated his concerns with respect to the building's two driveways at 1299 Palmer Avenue. The Committee continued discussion of access of the main and garage driveways. It was Mr. Keefer's opinion due to inadequate signage and markings identifying where the driveways are located, vehicles have difficulty entering or exiting. In addition exiting onto Palmer Avenue can be problematic from a safety standpoint due to limited visibility of oncoming traffic. The Committee discussed the building's main driveway and decided no action would be taken. However regarding the garage driveway the Committee decided the faded yellow paint on the curb should be repainted as well as extended to allow additional room for vehicles to enter and exit. The Committee also agreed that the reason for posting the "Wednesday - No Parking 9-12 " sign should be researched to determine its necessity given the other posted parking restrictions. If it is determined the sign is not necessary then the Committee would recommend removal of the sign. Also to better identify the location of the driveway, it was suggested that other signage e.g. "Active Driveway" be placed near the entrance or in place of the aforementioned parking sign if it were to be removed. Correspondence from John Fitzpatrick - Speeding on Palmer Avenue and Weaver Street and Howell Avenue Intersection: The Committee discussed Mr. Fitzpatrick's concerns addressed in his letter. Due to vehicles speeding in the vicinity of Weaver Street and Howell Avenue he suggested installing three- way stop signs, as opposed to a one-way stop sign. In addition, he recommended slower speed limits, as well as having a school crossing guard monitor traffic at the intersection of Weaver Street and Howell Avenue. His rationale was that there are many children who walk to the corner of Howell and Weaver, then cross the street to take the path to the Central School. The Committee discussed the. area's traffic issues, however it was decided the II Committee was not going to take any acton. oi/ o 0 (rl f0/ll/ f //f M mr AI;r H,,ul 1 II III IIIhim I jIIII11U 6 rD Mu 1,.p,% P Usk
