Town of Mamaroneck Sustainability Collaborative
Meeting Minutes, December 8, 2015, 6PM —8PM, VFW
Attendees: Mitch Green, Beth Radow, Marc Karell, Michele Lewis, Frank Owens, George Roniger,,
Stephen Moser, Tony Gelber, Ernie Odierna, Monica Barach,Sue Odierna
Absent: Nancy Seligson,Steve Altieri, Lesley Seymour,Andrea Boyar, Tracy Augustine

6:10 PM Greetings &Call to Order
6:15 PM Minutes of November 17, 2015 Meeting—Approved
Frank Owens was congratulated and applauded for raising$20,000 for the MHS Energy Dashboard.

Deputy Supervisor and Councilman Ernie Odierna spoke about his visit at City College with Andy Holtz,
Major Gifts Officer at CCNY. There is interest in City College and the Town collaborating on
environmental projects with,for example, their Engineering students. Ernie was to follow up and see if
Andy Holtz could make it to the next"Collabs"meeting in January. (Following day, Ernie did confirm
that Andy will attend next meeting on January 5,2016.)
Collaborative reviewed and approved the following requests to TOM for expenditure commitments from
the 2015 budget:
• Energy Use and GHG data input,problem resolution, corrections, Monica Barach - Up to$3,000
• Bike-able Walk-able Consultant consultation,presentations and discussions—Jonathan Orcutt-
$1,500
• Rain Barrels—approx. 50-$4,500 total*
*Regarding the rain barrels,Steve Moser, Michele Lewis and Mitch Green will meet on Monday,
December 14th at 4PM at Lewis and Gould on 37th Street in Manhattan to review options and select a
vendor and barrel type. On this basis, document will be created for use by the Town. Confirmed with
Nancy the following day: if the Town purchases the barrels, no sales tax will be charged). If vendor
wants to donate all or some portion of the cost of the rain barrels,the Town can provide a letter
stating that the donation may be tax deductible,and they should check with their accountant for
details.

Steve Moser proposed that Jonathan Orcutt attend the February Collabs meeting to meet the group and
discuss his ideas and then, attend the Town Board meeting in late February(Feb Town Board dates
TBD).
Frank Owens mentioned that Sustainable Westchester has a total of$35,000 of income, but it seems
they have greater expenses,so he is requesting that Nancy get ahold of their 2016 budget. There was
general consensus among the group that this was a good idea
