WINGED FOOT GOLF CLUB 851 FENIMORE ROAD TURF CARE FACILITY
1
Tony Panza and Chris the architects addressed the Board. The existing facility is presently adjacent to a
residential area, and the proposed although in the same location will be moved slightly. All equipment
currently behind the building will be moved into the new facility. Westchester Joint Water Works
water tower is next to the facility and safety fences are included in the proposal.
The most affected neighbor Mr. Pasqua is in favor of the proposal.
The length of the existing and proposed building was discussed.
Background auxiliary buildings have been expanded over the years, and most will be consolidated into
the proposed building.
The Board stated they are concerned with the neighbor's point of view as the proposed building is 45
feet from the property line. A rain garden is proposed in the rear.
Mr. Shein asked if Mr. Pasqua has a problem with water from Winged Foot, and further asked if photos
of the rear of the building and Mr. Pasqua's property can be submitted.
The Façade was discussed.
Vertical metal siding is planned, intended to look like Board and batten.
The proposed color is brown with the roof is slightly lighter in color.
Lighting was discussed.
Mr.Jacobson stated they are focusing the light to the front of the building.
Mr. Meeker stated that the building seems massive as it is a huge wall in the rear. There is staggering in
the front but the back is one long wall. He further asked what the residential properties will see from
their properties. Mr. Panza answered that the building will be screened part of the year but will be
seen when the leaves fall.
Mr.Jacobson stated that the neighbors are lower and plantings block the view most of the year.
The roof of the building was discussed, with the possibility of adding dormers to the rear; Mr. Meeker
stated dormers would make it look more like a building rather than a garage. Mr. Panza stated the
dormers in front are for ventilation.
Ms. Neff asked if the building could be made lower, Mr. Panza responded that it is 27 feet to the ridge.
Placement of the building discussed, the original facility is there and to move it to a different part of the
course would be a bigger issue. The work is being phased so the club can operate.
Mr. Panza explained the carb-trol system.
