At the Weaver Street Police Station, Larchmont, New York.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor I..1cCulloch at
8 :20 P. h.
Present: Supervisor McCulloch
Councilmen Bates, Brennan, Griffin, ITIeginniss.
The presence was also noted of Town Clerk Yarvin, Town Attorney
Delius, Comptroller Hirschmann, Receiver of Taxes Dillon, Superintendent
of Highways Iferola and Yr. Luceno.
The presence was further noted of about thirty-five representa-
tive citizens who were in attendance on the invitation of the Supervisor
and the Town Board to consider informally the proposed budget estimates
for the year 1935 in advance of the statutory public hearing on the
budget.
The Supervisor opened the meeting by thanking those present
for their attendance and their interest in the affairs of the Town. He
stated that the budget estimates which were to be submitted at that time
were tentative only and that the Board would be delighted to receive any
suggestions thereon. He requested Mr. Meginniss as Chairman of Finance
to present the budget estimates as tentatively compiled.
Yr. Veginniss presented the proposed figures, department by
department. A number of suggestions , criticisms and commendations were
made from the floor, of which the Clerk took due note.
At the conclusion of the public consideration of the proposed
budget estimates, the Board met separately at the request of the
- Supervisor.
The Supervisor stated that the term of Jay H. Van Norden as
Veteran Relief Officer expired on that day, namely, November 302 1934 ;
that he , together with Public Welfare Officer DeVinne, had conferred
with the relief officers of the three Veterans ' Posts of the Town of
Mamaroneck and that there was unanimous agreement that Frank J. Enright
of 766 Forest Avenue, Larchmont, a member of Mamaroneck Post No. 1156,
Veterans of Foreign 'dilars, be appointed as Town Veteran Relief Officer to
succeed Jay H. Van Norden, his term of office to be at the pleasure of
the Board.
On motion duly made and seconded it was unanimously
RESOLVED, that Frank J. Enright of 766 Forest Avenue,
Larchmont, be and he hereby is appointed Veteran
Relief Officer of the Town of Iiamaroneck for the term
beginning December 10 1934, to serve at the pleasure
of the Town Board.
At 11:10 P. Y. the Board unanimously resolved to adjourn
subject to the call of the chair.
