Kathleen Tracy O'Flinn, Town Councilwoman 4h
The meeting commenced at 9:30 AM in Conference Room A. Joanne Grossman
of Larchmont Nurseries presented her ideas for a grass garden which she <
has offered to donate and plant. As she explained, she originally `$''
suggested as a possible site the triangular island at Weaver Street and
Palmer Avenue and submitted drawings for two alternate plans. Since
that time, however, and after speaking with Councilwoman O'Flinn, she
suggested that perhaps the park site behind the bus stop on the
southside of Palmer Avenue might be more suitable.
After some discussion, the Committee agreed that they were interested
in Ms. Grossman's generous offer and asked if she would prepare a plan
for a grass garden at the park site. When that's ready for review, the
Committee might wish to visit the site together to pace it out. A
tentative target date for planting would be late spring after the
tulips have blossomed and died off. It was also mentioned that an
alternate location for a future tulip display might be the triangular
island instead of its current spot
Ms. Grossman was thanked for her generous offer before she left the
meeting.
Other business included an update on the work at the train station pond
with special thanks to Doris Stockman for her perennials and an update
on the Tree Inventory Program.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:50 AM.
