Minutes of April 10, 1986 Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 8:15 p.m. by Ruth Santos, Chairman, at the Village Hall. Present were Lee Korchin, Anne Martin, Judy Call1Brigitte Dickinson, Nancy Sahlein, Mary Savage, Mary Ellen Wallace, Bill Reilly, Frank Stilo, Barbara Pearson, Sue Greenhill and Judy Zern. Minutes The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as circulated. Children 's Children 's Corner is expecting to become licensed Corner very soon. They are having a problem finding staff as the college students leave May 1. Summer Theater La-Ma Summer Theater will exist and will perform Godspell in mid-August at the Emelin. Homeless The Human Rights Commissions of the three munici- palities will hold a meeting on April 16 to plan forum on the homeless to be held in June. Bill Reilly and/or Ruth will attend. SAFE Homes A SAFE Homes mailing was done at the end of March to 400 families. About 7 parents have expressed an interest in further meeting. SAFE Families Together was mailed to all parents of 6th- 10th graders. A calendar of events for Community Awareness Month was distributed. As a result of a low turnout for the Rye Youth Council Players,we were asked to encourage attendance on April 29 to hear Arnold Washton and Karl Nelson (a N.Y. Giant) . Also watch and prepare questions for the Community Forum on LMC-TV on April 30. SAFE has received funding of $3, 000 from the three municipalities to support their projects but needs more. Singles Mary Ellen Wallece expressed concern for the singles in our community whose needs are not being met. Slate for 1986-87 The slate for next year was presented as follows : Co-chairmen, Judy Call and Nancy Sahlein; Vice- Chairmen, Lee Korchin and Mary Savage; Secretary, Brigitte Dickinson; Treasurer, Nancy Tepley; Program, Alice Model and Membership, Sue Greenhill. Youth Advocate Bill Reilly reported that the Recreation Committee is meeting to determine what needs should be met Minutes of April 10, 1986 Youth Advocate by the summer programs - pool parties, dances, (continued) etc. Announcements -Hunter College is holding a seminar on Clinical Creativity on May 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. -April is also Child Abuse Prevention Month. -A Bylaws meeting will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Ruth Santos ' . -The next meeting will be May 8.
