Minutes of CFY meeting, January 8, 1987, 8: 00 p.m. , Village Center The meeting was called to order by co-chairman, Judy Call. Other members present included Ruth Santos, Odin Zackman, Nancy Sahlein, Bill Reilly, Mary Ellen Wallace, Enid Friedman, Judy Delehanty, Ellie Einzig, Anne Martin, Barbara Pearson, Suzanne Roniger, Brigitte Dickinson, Sue Greenhill. Excused: Betty McSherry, Paul Kean, Lee Korchin, Nancy Teply. Last Month's minutes were approved. Treasury report remains the same : ($1581. 63 belonging to SAFE, $672. 17 Savings, $2253.80 total. ) Odin Zackman discussed OASIS, which opened to a large crowd on 11-21-86. Not many kids came during the holiday season. They plan to have theme nights and more publicity. It was decided to keep the 1 a.m. closing, because an earlier time might cause some kids to look for something else to do before going home. Only drivers with senior licenses may drive volunteers home late at night, so they will try to schedule accordingly. Odin discussed workshops on the party scene - "Where's the Party. " The first was for parents. The second was for parents and students. The panel discussion was frank and open, with both parents and students participating. It was decided to update the Safe Homes membership list since about 30 families have been added. Bill Reilly said this would also be a good reminder to parents of what they have signed. Perhaps we could have a parent support group. Ruth is working on a new issue of "Families Together,' and would welcome help in ideas , writing, producing. Brigie Dickinson said that the Mamaroneck Free Library's new Kirstein Wing is now completed, and books, files, etc;. are being moved in. There will be an opening reception for the public on January 24 & 25, 1 - 4 p.m. Mary Ellen Wallace said that the Senior Center brings happiness to older people who werelonely alone , and we should "push the Senior Center. " Buses pick up people at their homes. Bill Reilly said there is a big problem of people who are homebound and need help. Help is available , but it is hard to find out who is in need. If we know of anyone, let him know. Children's Corner is licensed now (it took a year) . Now they can be incorporated and have not-for-profit status.
