Nancy Teply announced that CFY has consolidated the former two accounts into one account at Larchmont Federal. There is a total of $1195.29, of which $778 is SAFE Rides and $417 is CFY. Ruth Santos said that three people will share a steering committee chair- manship of CFY next year -- Judy Call, Lee Korchin and Anne Martin. Susan Vieser will continue as Secretary and Judy Zern will become Treasurer. Appreciation was expressed to Nancy Teply for her years of service to CFY as Treasurer. Ruth and others will handle Membership and attempt to deal with the problem of how to increase membership and attendance. A meeting with Dick Martin and Susan Amlicke, of People Meeting People, was reported where mutual concerns and the possibility of a joint meeting was discussed. CFY needs more publicity to let people know who we are. We need specific projects on which to focus, as in the past. Perhaps we should consider a large fall meeting to which additional people from community would be in- vited. Carole Brodin said she and Helen Kaplan had discussed the need for updating the party phamphlet to send out before next fall's parties. We are continutin to discuss the possible establishment of a Youth Council, as proposed by Delores Battalia. Carole Brodin informed us that Norm Kolb is strongly supporting starting a Human Relations group consisting of young people from all ethnic and social groups, which could meet in homes to discuss issues of concern. Ann Tannen said that Oasis will open again in the fall, probably in late October. It needs creative thinking and lots of work . . . and workers. Bill Reilly pointed out that CFY got the most publicity from presentations to the entire community, like this year's talk by George Cohen. Another successful program was the open forum panel discussion with kids talking about parties. Nancy S. suggested "What You Wish You Could Tell Your April 28, 1938 Parents" as a topic. Barbara Pearson supported the idea and suggested a large heterogeneous group. Perhaps talking to George Holub about repre- sentatives from the athletic teams would result in a diverse group. Bill Reilly said that Helen Mohan distributed a flyer to Senior Citizens to elicit names of seniors who have no "safety net". She received no response. Eleanor Dreyfus said seniors need transportation, especially to doctor's appointments, shopping and libraries. She has a list of needful seniors. Ann Tannen announced that RID - Westchester has dissolved and has sent us the balance in it's bank account - $991.76 - to use toward the SAFE Ride Program. SADD is offering a breakfast the morning after the Senior Prom. SAFE Ride student volunteers are interested in working with the Hommocks students to encourage them to choose not to drink. Nancy Teply announced the 25th birthday of the YES organization. They are having an open house on May 5 for all high school students. There are plenty of summer jobs available. Brigitte Dickinson said the Mamaroneck Free Library has a new director named Joan Grott. She also said the Mamaroneck Keeps Program will expand to a daytime program. Mary Ellen Wallace said the Senior Center is doing very well -- has a new director and many great activities. "Pick on Somebody Your Own Size!
