BOX 416, LARCHMONT, NY 10538 TOWNCLERK�ro MAMARONECK is N.Y. liinutes of CFY meeting on June 9, 1988, 8:00 pml Village Center The meeting was called to order at 8:10 pm by co-chairperson Nancy Sahlein. Attending were: Judy Call, diary Ellen Wallace, Susan Vieser, Judy Zern, Betty ricSherry, Eleanor Dreyfus, Nancy Teply, Huth Santos, Richard Stevenson, Lee Korchin, Katie martin, Healey Rice, Anne martin, Suzanne Roniger, Benita ,larks, Ellen Fentas, Alice model. The minutes of April 28 were approved as circulated. . Nancy Teply said that the CFY account balance Is $1185.29. Nancy Sahlein asked for future ideas for CFY, not to be limited by practicality. Judy Call read CFY's annual report, which was approved as read. Benita Marks said that Oasis will begin in the fall under another name. They need a new, not too large, location. Establishing a teen center at Hommocks Ice Rink will not become a reality. The tri- municipal involvement in a 1989 Year of the Family project will consist of three efforts: 1)coordination of all community resources, 2)im- proving communication in our community, and 3)new activities, events and forums created to promote healthy family functioning. A coordin- ator will be hired. The project would like to be called "Families Together" with a positive focus on all aspects of family. We approved use of our newsletter name for this project. Alice Model announced the Summer Theatre iusical on Aug. 11, in which anyone from about 14 to 24 can participate. She also informed us of the free outdoor s unmer concerts in Flint Park on Thursday. nights, June 30, July 7, 14, 21 , and 28. Katie martin and Healey Rice, seniors at MHS, reported that the mock drunk driving accident staged at the high school on June ? was received as a powerful message to students to not drink and drive. Nancy Teply said YES has more jobs than there are kids applying to fill them. The Senior Center is looking for new members, said nary Ellen Wallace. A discussion was held on the poor reporting by our local newspaper on the news and events of our community. Thanks were expressed to Nancy Teply for her years of service to CFY as Treasurer, and thanks were also expressed to Nancy Sahlein for her service as Co-president for two years.
