SPECIAL TRTTING OF THE TOWN BOARD
TCWIT OF MAKARONECK, NFW YORK

At the Town Offices , 118 Rest Post Road, Mamaroneck. N. Y.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor McCulloch
-- at 4:30 P. M.
Present: Supervisor KcCull' ch
Councilmen Bafies. Brennan, Griffin and Yeginniss
The presence w9s also noted of Town Clerk Marvin and Town
Attorney Delius..
The Supervisor stated that the meeting had been called
pursuant to notice duly given to receive bids for $343tOOO bonds..
The Clerk _presented the call of the meeting which was approved as
printed.
The Clerk presented affl.d'avits of publication evidencing
that notice of the meeting had been given as required by Law. The
affidavits were ordered placed on file.
The Supervisor stated that he had received two bids and
requested Mr. Meginniss to open them and read the contents.
Yr. Meginniss opened the bids and announced they were as
follonrs:

Supervisor McCulloch reported- that he had received the
follt7iing pr^posals for the sixty-four thousand ($64=000. ) dollars
Pine Brook Improvement Bonds of the Torn of Mamaroneck authorized
to be issued under date of Febr,kary 1, 1934, pursuant to the notice
of sale of said bonds, calling for sealed proposals at this time
and maces

Upon consideration of said bonds it irTas found and determined'
by the Board that the offer, of the Chase National Bank for said
bonds *ryas the best offer received- in accordance �n,,ith the notice
of sale.
Thereupon, the following resolution was introduced- by
Mr. Ineginniss and upon motion d-uly made and seconded. a_d.opted by
the following vote :

tc purchase sixty-four thousand ($64,000. ) dollars of
Town of Mamaroneck. Pine Brook Improvement Bonds , dated
February 1, 1934, bearing interest at five and one-half
per cent.um per annum. payable semi-annually, and to pay
therefor the sum of sixty-four thousand Dollars ($64,000. )
plus accrued interest from the date of the bonds to the
date of delivery, be and the same 'hereby is accepted and
that when said_ bonds have been prepared and executed as
heretofore provided by this Board the Supervisor is auth-
orized to deliver them to said purchaser upon compliance
with the terms of the bid..
BE IT FURTHrR RESOIL= that the Supervisor be and he here-
by is authorized and_ directed to return the checks of all
other bidders.

Secti.ln The $11.0,000. General Bonds o- 1933 hereto-
fore authorized by resolution adopted by the Town Board.
on August 7, 1933. for irrhich sealed proposals "Vere duly
receied by the Town Supervisor on ]March 16, 1934, and
7,rhich have been awarded by him to The Chase Y12tional Bank,
which award is hereby ratified and ccnfirmed, shall bear .
interest at the rate of 5-1-/,,' per certtun per annum®
Section. 2. The $169x000 Sewer Funding Bonds of 1933$
heretofore authorized by resolution adopted by the Town
Boar on August 7, 1933, for which sealed proposals were
duly received by the Town Supervisor on March 16, 1934,
end which have been awarded by him to The Chase ITational
Bank, which award is hereby ratified and confirmed, shall
bear interest at the rate of 5J% per centum per annum.
Section 3. The proper offi^_ isls of the Town ..=.re hereby
authorized and directed to execute said bonds and to
deriver them to the sa3.d purchasers upon receipt of payment
in accordance with the terms of the contract of sale.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote :

On motion. by 1fr. Griffin seconded. by 1r. Bates, the Board
unanimously thanked the representatives of the two bidders who were
present and invited them to submit bids at any future sale that the tDrn
might hold
A letter dared Yarch 14th was received from Local Union #543j
Carpenters and joiners of America , urging the Board to insert in contracts
for the town construction and repairs the clause : "that local tradesmen
and labor be employed. 11 The Board agreed to give this matter its careful
consideration whenever it prepares contracts and referred the letter to
the Town Attorney for his advice.
A letter dated YnrC`h 3rd 17Ps received from the Weaver Street
Fire Department submitting to the Board a list of nominations made at the
annual greeting of the Departmert for the various offices of the Department
for the ensuing year as follows:

Upon motion by Yr. Brennan seconded. by Tfr. Bates , it was
unanimously
RFSOLVFD that the nominations of the Fire Department
having been considered by this Board., the following
_ - persons be and they hereby are appointed to the offices
of the Cleaver Street Fire Department set after their
respective names for the ensuing years

The Supervisor informed the Board that he had. received a letter
from Yr. Jo°e'_-'h kercadante . e resident of tiie To?,n, and the developer
of the lira le H'r1,S. Section. in regard to tapes and special assessmsnts
c�•red by him, and also in regard tc his alleged claim against the tovrn
in the amount of 91.8,000,.
After discussion, it was upon motion by Mrw Meginniss
seconded. by Hr. Griffin unanimously
RESOLVED that the Receiver of Taxes be and he hereby is
requested to submit to the To,,,Tn Board a statement showing
all taxes and special assessments due and o-ing to Joseph
Ifercad.ante and-/or Maple Gardens Inc; and. be it further
RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is requested
to submit to the Tom Board all correspondence, resolutions ,
and any and all other material or data received from Mr.
Mercadante and/or maple Gardens Inc, . in regard to any
taxes or assessments or any alleged credit due him from
the tovma
A letter dated March 15th addressed to the Receiver of Taxes
was received from the Board of Assessors giving notice that the Board
of Assessors had apportioned the assessment on Section 8. Block 5027
Lots 59 and 60A as follows : Lot #59 Land 51,600. Improvements $55000®
Lot #60A " $ 500. No-improvements,
Upon motion by 11r. Brennan seconded by 11r. Bates, it eras
unanimously
RFSOLVFD that action of the Board of Assessors in
annortioning the assessment on Section 8, Block 50®
Lots 59 and 60A„ as above described, be and it hereby
is approved.
The Supervisor reported progress on the matter of preparing
plans and specifications for the proposed. re-modeling of the Torun Hall.
The Clerk reminded the Board that the 1934 budget contemplates
that the 11th Flection District be divided into trro districts because
of its present size and the large number of registered voters contained
therein.
This matter was ordered referred to Yr. Griffin, Mr. Tdeginniss
and the Clerk for report back to the Board_.
