REGULAR MEETING OF TH2 TOWN BOARD
TOWN OF IJIAIiAR"NECK, N W YORK
HELD FEBRUARY 7TH, 1934
Zt the Town Office , 118 hest Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, N. Y.
The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at 8 P. M.
Presents Supervisor McCulloch
Councilmen Bates, Griffin and Meginniss
The presence was also noted of Town Clerk Marvin and 'Town
Attorney Delius.
Andrew Derby, Attorney for Carmine and Louise Tortorella,
addressed the Board in reference to the court costs in the case of
Carmine Tortorella, et. al. versus Board of Appeals.
In this connection the Clerk read a letter dated February
3rd from the Board of Appeals recommending that these costs be paid
by Tortorella.
The Supervisor, after ascertaining the views of the members
of the Town Board , stated that he would sign a satisfaction waiving
these costs in accordance with the resolution passed by the Board on
November 27th.
Mrs. Villiam H. Kirchner, Mrs. A. Z. Boothby and Mrs. Albert
Wilson, representing the Mamaroneck Child Welfare Association and the
- Mamaroneck Society for Lending Comforts to the Sick, addressed the Board
in reference to the annual appropriations for the salary of Public
_ Health Nurses. After discussion the Board unanimously agreed to place
in the proposed tax budget for 1934 an appropriation for $1,080.00 for
the salary of a Public Health Nurse to be employed in conjunction with
the Mamaroneck Society for Lending Comforts to the Sick.
Mr. McNulty addressed the Board and offered to paint house
numbers on the curbs in front of every house in the town in accordance
with a. plan he had already put into operation in other communities.
The matter was referred to Councilman Brennan.
Leland T Atherton of 3 Vine Place, Larchmont, addressed the
Board to request that the name" of Vine Place be changed to Vine Road.
In connection with this, the Clerk read a letter dated January 24th,
received from Mr. Atherton, relating to the same matter. The matter
was referred to Superintendent of Highways Merola for investigation and
report.
The Supervisor presented the foilowing names for appointment
to the hoard of Park Commissioners of Park District Igo.. I of the Town
of Mamaroneck, to-wit: Mr. Frank A. Downes, Valley Stream Road; Mr.
John T. Austin, Garden Road; and Mrs. W. C. la-wton, Avon Road.
Upon motion by Mr. Griffin seconded by Mr. Bates, it was
upon roll call unanimously
RESOLVED that the following persons be and they
hereby are appointed the Board of Park Commissioners
of Park District 1$0. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck f or
the terms of office set opposite their names, said.
