The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 10 : 45 P. h. Present: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Leeds , lMessersmith and Burbank Deputy Town Clerk Jacobs The presence was also noted of Counselor Ralph A. Gamble In the absence of Town Clerk ?Marvin, it was unanimously agreed to have Deputy Town Clerk Jacobs act as Clerk to the Board. The regular order of ousiness was suspended in order to hear those present whe wished to address the Board. 4 committee from the Weaver Street Fire Company representing Fire District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck headed by Chief-Captain Donald C . Howe, addressed the Board on the subject of the care of the 'leaver Street Fire Company building. It was stated that according to the terms of the bill enacted by the legislature creating the Fire District, the building erected was for the use of the Fire Company of that district ; that the Fire Company had deemed it advisable in 1925 to request the Town Board to take over the supervision of the large r hall on the second floor of the building and the entrance thereto from Edgewood. !`.venue ; that conditions had now arisen that made the company feel it +,:gas advisable to request the Town Board to turn the care of the entire building back to the Fire Company. Idter further discussion, it was upon motion by Justice Leeds , seconded by Justice Burbank, RISOLVET`, that the care and jurisdiction of the Fire House Building at Weaver Street and Edgewood .avenue, be turne.a over to the Fire Company on condition that they take care of the building, do all the Janitor work, but that the Town Board still have the use of it for all election purposes and public meetings that the Board may desire to call. . vote being taken upon the foregoing resolution: resulted as follows : kyes : Burton, Boyd, Leeds and Burbank Justice I1tessersmith not voting, stated that he thought a consensus of opinion should be first obtained from the Civic Associations. Noes : None There being no other persons present who wished to address the Boara the regular order of business was resumed.. The Supervisor advisee. the Board that 19r . John J. Bloomer , Town Public Welfare Officer, was still on the sick list and that his health was such that he could not give the time necessary to. the position out that he would be able to give part time to the job. The Supervisor recommended the appointment of Charles J. DeVinne of Rochelle Road as Town Public Welfare Officer, at a salary of ill,500. 00 per annum. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Justice Burbank ana seconded by Justice Leeds RESOLVED, that Mr. Charles J. DeVinne be and he hereby is appointed Town. Public Welfare Officer Of the Town of Mamaroneck to take the place of Mr. John J. Bloomer , at a salary of tl ,500. 00 per annum® his appointment to take effect immediately. A vote being taken upon the foregoing resolution resulted as follows : !eyes : Burton, Boyd, Leeds , Burbank Justice Messersmith not voting, stated this was not a reflection against the gentleman.
