CALL TO ORDER 76- The The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wassman at 7:35 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Wassman said the first order of business this evening will be the approval of Minutes. He said Ms. Pamela Washington was the chairperson, Robert Immerman was present and Tony Spagnola was present. One other member of the Board was present but is not here this evening, but we can vote on the Minutes if • those three so approve. Mr. Wassman asked, have you all read the Minutes and asked if there were any comments. Ms. Washington said yes, Mr. Gordon's compatriot's name is misspelled. Mr. Carpaneto said it's Yestadt. Ms. Washington said please correct Mr. Yestadt's name. Also, I'd like the Minutes to reflect that Mr. Gordon presented drawings to the Board that had a date of April and the Board had not seen those drawings in advance of the meeting, so that the comments and notes that we made about the drawings were based on drawings dated from April, not the drawings dated from February. Mr. Wassman asked if there was any comment about that from the Board members. There was none. Mr. Wassman said that the drawings aren't identified here. We'll have the Minutes corrected to show that the drawings that were commented on were those dated April, not the latest drawings of that meeting. Mr. Immerman said they were presented to us at the meeting. Mr. Wassman said the comments then do apply to the drawings dated....interrupted. Ms. Washington said these drawings dated in June are the drawings that are a response to our comments. Mr. Wassman asked if there were any other comments. There were none. • Upon a motion made by Mr. Immerman, seconded by Ms. Washington, the Minutes of the June 19, 2003 meeting were unanimously approved as corrected. Chairman Wassman read the first application as follows: • Board of Architectural Review July 2, 2003 Page 2 VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORP. - 153 Weaver Street - Block 401, Lot 150, new building, and parking lot lighting(adjourned 5/15/03; 6/19/03) The Board approved the revised VAC building plans as submitted, dated July 1, 2003. Benedict Salanitro P.E. presented for Eastern Stone A discussion took place and the Board made the following suggestions. 1. The windows on the first and second floor should maintain the same vocabulary. 2. The spacing of the windows should be addressed. 3. All finishes for the doors and windows should be white metal or vinyl. 4. The security bars on the first floor should be addressed relating to the windows on that floor. 5. The filling in of existing windows and door fenestration should match existing. 6. The chain link fence and the chain link entry gates should be replaced with new. 7. The sidewalk apron should be redone/repaired. • 8. 9. A site plan should be submitted. The proposed lighting should be shown on the site plan. 10. Any signage should be shown on plan and applied for by next meeting. 11. Planting should be considered in the available space on the front and side of the building 12. The application, subject to the above comments, was held over until the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS The Board reminded Mr. Carpaneto that Blockbuster Video needs to change their awning.
