HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019_06_10 Town Board Minutes MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD ON JUNE 10, 2019 BEGINNING AT 9:00AM IN CONFERENCE ROOM A, OF THE TOWN CENTER, 740 W. BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK PRESENT: Supervisor Nancy Seligson Councilwoman Jaine Elkind Eney Councilwoman Sabrina Fiddelman ALSO PRESENT: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator Connie Green O’Donnell, Deputy Town Administrator On motion of Commissioner Fiddelman, seconded by Commissioner Elkind Eney, the Board of Fire Commissioners was unanimously declared open. Present were the following Members of the Commission: Commissioner: Nancy Seligson Commissioner: Jaine Elkind Eney Commissioner: Sabrina Fiddelman It was explained that that additional resolutions are required for the Fire District Election. Just prior to the Meeting of the Election Inspectors, Sheldon and Carol Hoffman, notified the Town that they had each became ill and could not fulfill the duties of Inspectors. Bond Counsel has advised that the Fire Commission immediately designate new inspectors. On motion of Commissioner Elkind Eney, seconded by Commissioner Fiddelman, RESOLUTION DESIGNATING ELECTION PERSONNEL At a special meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Mamaroneck Fire District in the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York, held at the Town of Mamaroneck Town Hall, in Mamaroneck, New York, in said Fire District, on June 10, 2019, at 9:00 o'clock A.M., Prevailing Time. The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Seligson, and upon roll being called, the following were PRESENT: Commissioner Seligson Commissioner Elkind Eney Commissioner Fiddelman ABSENT: Commissioner Katz Commissioner King The following resolution was offered by Commissioner Elkind Eney, who moved its adoption, seconded by Commissioner Fiddelman, to-wit: RESOLUTION DATED JUNE 10, 2019 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING ELECTION PERSONNEL WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners of Mamaroneck Fire District, Westchester County, New York, has called a special election of the qualified voters of said Fire District to be held on June 18, 2019; and WHEREAS, it is now desired to provide for the appointment of a permanent chairman, inspectors of election and assistant clerks for said special election; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Mamaroneck Fire District, Westchester County, New York, as follows: Section l. Jennifer Ransom, a duly qualified voter of said Fire District is hereby appointed as the permanent chairman of the special election referred to in the preambles hereof. Section 2. The following named qualified voters of said Fire District are hereby appointed to act as inspectors of election of said special election, so that there shall be at least two inspectors for each ballot box or voting machine to be used thereat: Jennifer Ransom Elizabeth Paul Section 3. Jennifer Ransom is hereby designated as chief election inspector. Section 4. The following named qualified voters of said Fire District are hereby appointed as assistant clerks of said special election: Elizabeth Paul Section 5. Each inspector of election and assistant clerk appointed for said special election, as herein provided, shall be entitled to compensation at the rate of $150.00 for each day actually and necessarily spent on the duties of his office. The Clerk of said Fire District is hereby authorized and directed to give written notice of appointment to the persons herein respectively appointed as permanent chairman, inspectors of election and assistant clerks for said special election. Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately. The question of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly put to a vote on roll call, which resulted as follows: Commissioner Seligson Aye Commissioner Elkind Eney Aye Commissioner Fiddelman Aye The resolution was thereupon declared duly adopted.
