Sumervisor Mandeville called the meeting to order at 315 P, M. PRESENT, Supervisor Mandeville Councilmen McKeever, Kane, Brush, and Waterman ABSENT: None Tresence was also noted of Yr. Gronberg, Town Clerk, and Mr . Delius � Town Attorney . Mr . Charles Mayone appeared to ask for a decision on his applicatio.'a to erect a sign on his property line, on premises known as Bloch 411, Parcel 269 (motel on Boston lost nead) . The Boar! Members had visited the premises of the matter, as to the sime of the sign, might have an traffic control lights, etc and there was discussion what effectl if any, it 7inally, on motion by Councilman McZse7er, seconded by Councilman Kane, the following resolution was , upon roll call, unanimously adopted : U'VEREAS, application has heretofore been made by C . Mayans Corp . for erection of a ground sign on premises owned by the appli- cant on the Boston lost Road, and known an the Tax Assessment Map as 2rock 411, Parcel UE , which sign is to be used in connection with a motel ; and. =RELS, the Building Inspector has refused to issue a permit for such sign on grounds that the same is not in compliance with the Oro-isicns of Article 12 , Section 12 of the Building Code ; and, 77=212, the applicant thereupon appealed to this Board from the fecision of the luilding inspector, pursuant to Article 1, Section 4, 7aragragh 23 of the 3uilding Code; and . YcFae7er asked how the fire Fouse is presently being managed , The Supervisor explained the situation and said the questioa A - whall the paid men, who ore doing a good job, run the Fire Tense? - There is a chief, an inspector, and the Paid Personnel . The paid men seem to feel the senior paid man should run the Fire House Chief Conte sail he feels he should have jurisdiction over the Fire 7ouse and its management . Mr. Richard Murphy, 20 Rockland Ave anything of this sort has happened , very well in the Fire use and did aue, said this is the first time Fe thought things bad been going not understand this hearing. Mr . Harrington said he is willing to work with the volunteer men but feels that a man in his capacity should not have to wait for orders from the ChisV Mr . 7aterma3 thinks Mr . Harrington wants the rules cleared up, whereby his jurisdiction and that of the Fire Chief will be defined . Mr , McKeever said the Chief and Lieutenant Harrington should get together and straighten out their differences . T' Mr . p_"ny said the Board should acknowledge that Mr . Conte is ChiK_ and that he will run the Department sup.,ajecd to the Ward 's jurisdiction. The Supervisor said there is no question in the mind of the Board Members about this . Mr. Theodore Tuck, 75 Garden Road, and Fr . Charles Greenall, 71 Hill- crB5t Avenue, spoke in behalf of ' h firemen , hr. McEeever suggested that nr . Delius , Chief Conte, and Lieutenant Harrington get together and settle the matter, and after some cussion, it was '._cid`v' this course vould be adopteZ The Supervisor said he would like to be included in this conference . Chief Conte requested and received permissicr to purchase 500 feet of 1 1/2" hose , The Supervisor then asked how the 7ire Department would feel about re- leasing the Dillon Parh area of the Town to the Larchmont Village Department . 7a said he had xecaiTod a letter, dated june S, IS54' from Mayor Gagliardi of the Village, with reference to this .
