PROPOSED LIGHTING FOR PARKING AREAS
Councilman Santoro advised the Board that upon consulting with
the Town Attorney, he was informed that any expenditure of funds
for the purchase, maintenance, or improvement of the parking lots
was subject to a thirty-day permissive referendum. In view of this
and in the interest of safety at this time of the year when daylight is
at a minimum, he explained that he had requested that this meeting
be called immediately to consider the installation of lighting on the
parking areas in order to expedite the matter of timing in connec-
tion therewith.
He then presented plans which had been prepared by the Engineer-
ing Department of the Whiffen Electric Company showing the pro-
posed lighting for the three parking areas and reported that the cost
-would be in the neighborhood of some $2, 100. 00.
Following a short discussion, on motion by Councilman Brush,
seconded by Councilman Kane, the following resolution was unani-
mously adopted;
WHEREAS, heretofore on the 3rd day of October,
1956, this Board adopted resolutions establishing
