Pursuant to Section 62 of the Town Law, I hereby call a special meeting of the Town Board, to be held in the Office of the Su- pervisor at the Town Offices, 158 West Boston Post Road, Village of Mamaroneck, at 6.15 p.m. on Monday evening, March 27th, 1961, for the purpose of awarding the bid for the purchase of a truck for the Park Department, and such other matters as may come before the meeting. March 24th, 1961 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD IN THE OFFICE OF THE SUPERVISOR AT THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK OFFICES, 158 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK, ON MONDAY EVENING, MARCH 27th, 1961, AT 6:15 p.m. PRESENT: Supervisor Burchell Councilman Santoro C ouncilman Kane Councilman Brush Councilwoman Helwig ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: Mr, Gronberg - Town Clerk Mr, Delius - Town Attorney Mrs, Brewer - Secretary CALL TO ORDER The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m, in accor- dance with the notice of meeting and waiver of notice hereto ap- pended for the purposes of the record. He then stated that this meeting had been called for the purpose of awarding the bid for the purchase of a truck for the Park Depart- ment and such other matters as might come before the meeting, and requested that the Board proceed with the first item of bus- iness, which, he stated, he had been informed necessitated a transfer of funds within the 1961 Park District No. 1 budget. 1. Authorization for Transfer of Funds (1961 Park District Budget) Councilwoman Helwig then presented a memorandum addressed to the Board by the Comptroller requesting the Board's au- thorization for the transfer of $272. 00 within the Park District budget for 1961 in accordance with the recommendation of the Board of Park Commissioners, which was ordered received and filed. She explained that the Commission had so recommended follow- ing the opening of bids for the purchase of a new truck for the Park Department at the last meeting of the Board when it was found that the lowest bid was $272. 00 over the amount appro- priated for the purchase of a new truck in the 1961 budget. - Whereupon, on her motion, which was seconded by Councilman Kane, it was unanimously RESOLVED that this Board hereby authorizes the transfer of the sum of $272. 00 from the line item entitled, "Other Expenses", to the line item en- titled "Equipment - Truck", within the 1961 Park District No. 1 budget, x 2. Award of Bid for Purchase of Truck (Park Department) Councilwoman Helwig then recommended acceptance of the low bid in accordance with the bid opening at the Town Board meet- ing on March 15th, 1961, and on her motion, which was sec- onded by Councilman Brush, it was unanimously RESOLVED that this Board hereby accepts the low bid, to-wit the bid of Flinn Motor Corporation, for furnishing to the Town of Mamaroneck Park De- partment one (1) new truck in accordance with the specifications, at a price of $4, 597, 00, less turn- in allowance for present 1949 truck in the amount of $325, 00, or the net price of $4, 272, 00. Councilwoman Helwig requested that the minutes note that this bid effected a saving over the original net low bid of Hory Chev- rolet in the amount of $4, 509. 67 (no turn-in allowance for old truck), submitted at the time bids were first called for and opened at the February 21st meeting of the Board of Park Com- missioners, at which time all bids were rejected due to a change in the specifications for the truck requested by the Park Department Foreman after publication of the notice for bids, 3. Request for Authorization of Salary New Public Health Nurse In accordance with a letter addressed to the Supervisor by the Director of Nursing at the Mamaroneck Health Center re- questing authorization of salary for a new Public Health Nurse to be appointed as of March 30th, 1961, it was on motion by Councilman Brush and seconded by Councilman Kane, unan- imously RESOLVED that this Board hereby authorizes payment of salary to Mrs, Marilyn June Errico, Public Health Nurse, in the amount of $4, 420. 00 per annum, com- mencing as of March 30th, 1961, the date of her ap- pointment, in accordance with the recommendationof the Mamaroneck Health Center, Inc, and in actor- dance with the Compensation Plan of the Town of Mamaroneck. 4. Request of Recreation Commission Councilwoman Helwig presented a written request to the Board from the Recreation Commission under today's date, whichwas ordered received and filed, requesting authorization for three persons to attend a course to be held at the County Center at a cost of $5. 00 per person. Whereupon, on motion by Councilman Kane and seconded by Councilman Brush, it was RESOLVED that this Board hereby authorizes Mr. Kronenberger, Superintendent of Recreation, Mrs. Maxine Steffens, Commission Member, and Mrs. Edward P. Helwig, Councilwoman, to at- tend a course, "An Introduction to Municipal Fi- nance", to be held at the Westchester County Cen- ter for a period of six weeks at a fee of $5. 00 per person to be paid from the proper item of the 1961 Recreation Commission budget. The vote on the foregoing resolution, on roll call, was unani- mous with the exception of Councilwoman Helwig°s abstaining from voting since she was the member of the Council elected to attend the course. 5. Other Business 1. Town Cemetary The matter of closing and memorializing the Town Ceme- tary was discussed and referred to the Attorney for his attention and study, 6.
