The Supervisor recalled to the Board that the improvement
of Maxwell Avenue had been under careful consideration by
this Board and that after thorough study it had been decided
to go forward with the project in the 1966 budget.
He further pointed out that bids had been submitted at the
last meeting and referred to Councilman Quadrine, the Engineer,
the Highway Superintendent and the Attorney for report at the
next meeting.
However, since the Engineer was now ready with the recommen-
dation and in view of the urgency of completing the project
prior to the onset of winter in the best interest of the
community, the Supervisor explained that pursuant to Section
62 of the Town Law, he had called this meeting so that the
contract could be awarded and work started with no further
delay.
Whereupon, in accordance with the memorandum addressed to
the Board by the Engineer under date of October 11, 1966,
