NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
TOWN BOARD
TOWN OF MAMARONECK, N. Y.
Pursuant to Section 62 of the Town Law, I
hereby call a special meeting of the Town
Board, to be held in the office of the
Supervisor, 158 West Boston Post Road,
Mamaroneck, New York, at 7:00 p. m. on
Wednesday evening, November 8, 1967 to
consider the adoption of a resolution
requesting the County to construct a side-
walk on Weaver Street from Palmer Avenue
to the Post Road; authorization for the
Town Attorney and Comptroller to attend
the New York State Public Employment Labor
Relations Conference; and such other busi-
ness as may come before the Board:

We, the undersigned, hereby waive all notice
of the attached Notice of Special Meeting
called by the Supervisor on November 8, 1967,
and consent that this meeting shall be held
as herein stated.

MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN
BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD NOVEMBER 8, 1967, IN
THE OFFICE OF THE SUPERVISOR, 158 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD,
MAMARONECK, AT 7:00 P. M.
CALL TO ORDER
The supervisor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p. M.
pursuant to the Notice of Meeting and Waiver of Notice
hereto appended for the record.

Councilwoman Helwig
Councilman Quadrine

Councilman Faiola
Absent: None

Mr. Altieri - Comptroller
Mr. Widulski - Engineer
The Supervisor - -
The Supervisor stated that the meeting was called for the
purpose of considering the adoption of a resolution request-
ing the County to construct a sidewalk on Weaver Street
from Palmer Avenue to the Post Road for presentation to the
Board of Supervisors and thereupon on motion by Councilwoman
Helwig, seconded by councilman Faiola, the following reso-
lution was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board all mem-
bers being present and voting aye:
WHEREAS, the Board of Education of Union Free
School District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaro-
neck has advised this Board that the new
Middle School, situated at Weaver Street and
Boston Post Road in the Town of Mamaroneck
is scheduled for opening on or about Septem-
ber 1, 1968; and
WHEREAS, this Board has been additionally
advised by the Superintendent of Schools of
said School District that said Middle School
is to accommodate over 1800 students; and
WHEREAS, there is presently no walk or path-
way for pedestrians along Route 125 (Weaver
Street in the Town of Mamaroneck) between
Palmer Avenue and Boston Post Road in said

Town of Mamaroneck; and
WHEREAS, this Board has been requested to provide
a safe means of passage along said Route 125
(Weaver street) as it runs in a southerly direc-
tion from Palmer Avenue to the Boston Post Road
for the students who will use said route as a
major means of going to and from said school;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, by the Town Board of the Town of Mama-
roneck that pursuant to Section 54 of the High-
way Law of the State of New York, this Board
respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Westchester to direct the
County Superintendent of Highways to construct
a sidewalk to run along the right-of-way of
Route 125 from Palmer Avenue to the Boston Post
Road, all of which is in the Town of Mamaroneck,
Westchester County.
The Supervisor was requested and directed to present a
certified copy of the foregoing resolution at the next
meeting of the Board of Supervisors on November 13, 1967.
The Attorney then explained that this request should also
be made to the Commissioner, Department of Transportation,
Albany, New York and in accordance with the Supervisor's
request he had drafted the following letter addressed to
Commissioner J. Burch McMorran:
On behalf of the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester
County, and pursuant to the provisions of Section
10 (22) of the Highway Law, I respectfully re-
quest that the State construct a sidewalk adjacent
to State Highway 125 (Weaver Street) as it tra-
verses that portion of the Town of Mamaroneck from
Palmer Avenue to Route 1 - Boston Post Road - in
said Town. This sidewalk is made necessary because
of the imminent completion of a Middle School by
the Board of Education of Union Free School District
No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck. This school is
situated at the southerly terminus of Weaver Street
at its intersection with Boston Post Road and is
designed for the use of 1800 students.
The portion of Weaver Street for which a sidewalk
is requested will be heavily traveled by the stu-
dents of this school and, at present, no walks or
pathways exist for their safe passage between
Palmer Avenue and Boston Post Road.
Your kind and immediate attention will be most ap-
prdciated in the premises.
Thereupon on motion by Councilman Quadrine, seconded by
Councilman Chalif it was unanimously

RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby
is directed to send on behalf of the Town Board
the foregoing letter to Commissioner J. Burch
McMorran with copy thereof to Senator Gioffre
and Mr. Joseph R. Pisani, Assemblyman.
The Supervisor then requested authorization for the Town
Attorney and Comptroller to attend the New York State
Public Employment Labor Relations Conference presented
by Cornell University to be held in New York City on
November 15, 1967 and thereupon on motion by Councilman
Chalif, seconded by Councilwoman Helwig, it was unani-
mously
RESOLVED, that this Board hereby authorizes
the expenditure of a sum not to exceed $50.
to cover the expenses of the Town Attorney
and Comptroller in attending Conference on
New York State Public Employment Labor
Relations: A Second Look,presented by Cor-
nell University to be held in New York City
on November 15, 1967.
There being no further business to come before the Board,
on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was declar-
ed adjourned at 7:10 p. m.
