HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969_07_17 Town Board Minutes NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING _ TOWN BOARD TOWN OF MAMARONECK, NEW YORK Pursuant to Section 62 of the Town Law, I hereby call a special meeting of the Town Board, to be held in the Office of the Su- pervisor at the Town Offices, 158 West Boston Post Road, Village of Mamaroneck, at 8 o'clock in the evening on Thursday, July the 17th, 1969, to consider: 1. Fixing the date for public hearings on the applications of Winged Foot Golf Club for a Special Use Permit to allow — the construction of paddle tennis courts -- and of Ray's Car Wash for a Special Permit to allow the construc- tion of a one-story addition to the rear of,the building. 2. Salary authorizations for the Beauti- fication and Summer Recreation programs. 3. Fire Claims and such other business as may come before the Board. Christine K. Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Dated: July the 17th 1 9 6 9 a, MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD JULY 17th, 1969 IN THE OFFICE OF THE SUPERVISOR, TOWN OFFICES, 158 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK. CALL TO ORDER The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 8:00 p. m. in accordance with the Notice of Meeting and Waiver thereof hereto appended for the record. ROLL CALL Present: Supervisor Helwig Councilman Chalif Councilman Faiola Absent: Councilman Nagel Councilman Vandernoot Also Present: Mr. Gronberg - Town Clerk Mr. Johnston - Town Attorney Mrs. Brewer - Deputy Clerk Mr. Altieri - Comptroller SUPERVISOR HELWIG The Supervisor stated that the meeting had been called so that consideration could be given to the matters set forth on the Notice of Meeting and proceeded with the first item -- of business . 1. Fixing Date for Public Hearings Applications for Special Permits Winged Foot Holding Corporation and Ray's Car Wash Pursuant to the Building Inspector's recommendation following presentation of the favorable reports of the Planning Board, on motion by Councilman Chalif, seconded by Councilman Faiola, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that this Board hereby fixes the date of August 6th, 1969, the next regular meeting of this Board, as the date for public hearings before this Board on the applications for special permits sub- mitted by Winged Foot Holding Corporation and Ray's Car Wash; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Clerk be and he hereby is author- ized to publish in the official newspaper of the Town of Mamaroneck, The Daily Times, Notice for such hearings as required by law. -1- r 2. Salary Authorizations a) Beautification Program Pursuant to memorandum addressed to the Board by Patrick T. Leddy, dated July 14th, 1969, and herewith presented and filed for the record, on motion by Councilman Chalif, seconded by Councilman Faiola, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that this Board hereby authorizes that Emmett Barbaro, Peter Glennon and Richard Hull be compensated at the Rate of $1.65 per hour, effective as of July 7th, 1969 and terminating on August 22d, 1969, in accordance with the terns of the contract between the State of New York and the Town of Ma- maroneck for the 1969 Beautification Program. b) Summer Recreation Program Pursuant to memorandum addressed to the Board by J. W. Krongerger, Superintendent of Recreation, on motion by Councilman Faiola, seconded by Councilman Chalif, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that this Board hereby authorizes the following Summer Recreation payroll changes set forth herebelow: That Roy O'Neill, Senior Recreation Leader, effective as of 6-30-69, be deleted from the payroll; That Linda Maples, Recreation Assistant, ef- fective as of 7-10-69, be deleted from the payroll; That the compensation of Kathy Megroz, Rec- reation Assistant, be changed from $25.00 per - week_ effective 6-30-691to 7-15-69, to $50.00 per week, effective 7-14-69 to 8-15-69; That Patricia Murray, Recreation Assistant, be compensated at the of $50_00 per week, effective from 6-3-69 to 8-15-69; That Glenda Jeffries, Recreation Assistant, be compensated at the rate of $50.00 per week. effective from 6-3-69 to 8-15-69; That Jackie Hill, Assistant Pool Director, be compensated at the rate of $150.00 per week, effective from 6-30-69 to 9-1-69. OTHER BUSINESS - Not on Agenda 1. Castro - Signs in Violation Councilman Faiola recommended that the Attorney notify Castro Convertible Corporation that there must be immediate removal of the non-conforming Castro sign which was so ordered by unanimous direction of the Town Board. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion duly made and seconded, it was declared adjourned at 8:35 p. m. -2- BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS The meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners was convened immediately upon the adjournment of the Town Board meeting. 1. Fire Claims Upon presentation and on motion by Commissioner Faiola, sec- oneed by Commissioner Chalif, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that the following Fire Department claims be and they hereby are approved, and the Supervisor and Comptroller authorized to pay the same out of the 1969 Fire Department budget: American La France 70.55 Con Edison 5.00 Franklin Cleaners 162.04 Larchmont Appliance Center, Inc. 220.00 N.
