Adoption of Resolution
Authorizing Completion and Return
Home Rule Requests Bill A-4789 and 5-7565
The Supervisor stated that the meeting had been called in order
to authorize the completion and return of Home Rule Requests
for Bill A-4789 and 5-7565 as requested by Senator Gioffre and
Assemblyman Pisani.
She explained that the Town must take this action since a School
District was unable to so do as only a municipality could so act.
She also pointed out that the request for this legislation did not
bind the Town to a contract - only permitted one to be made.
Councilman Faiola asked whether if the legislation were en-
acted and the Town subsequently should not lease the space be-
cause of costs being too high for both parties, there would be
any embarrasment to Senator Gioffre and Assemblyman Pisani
as sponsors of the bill which would then be impractical. The
Supervisor stated that she did not believe so as it must be
understood that the Town would lease space only if financially
feasible.
The Supervisor then asked whether there were any further
comments or questions - and since there were not, inquired
the Board's pleasure in the matter.
Whereupon on a motion offered by Councilman Nagel and sec-
onded by Councilman Bloom, it was unanimously
