Local Law No. 1 - 2010
This local law shall be known as the “Parking meters on Myrtle Boulevard and Madison
Avenue” Law.
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck
Section 1 – Purpose:
As part of the parking plan for the Washington Square area, the Town Board determines
that parking meters should be installed on Madison Avenue and on a certain portion of Myrtle
Boulevard so that there will be a movement of motor vehicles parked on those streets during the
day. Such movement will improve the on-street parking for persons seeking to use commercial
establishments or the services of professionals located in the Washington Square area.
Section 2 – Creation of a new article and a new section of the Code of the Town of Mamaroneck:
The Code of the Town of Mamaroneck hereby is amended to add the following article and section:
ARTICLE III
Parking Meters
§219-3. Parking meters on Madison Avenue and a section of Myrtle Boulevard.
A. Parking meters shall be installed on both sides of Myrtle Boulevard between the intersection
of Myrtle Boulevard with North Chatsworth Avenue and the terminus of Myrtle Boulevard at
Madison Avenue and on both sides of Madison Avenue between the intersection of Madison
Avenue and Fifth Avenue and the terminus of Madison Avenue at Myrtle Boulevard.
B. Motor vehicles may be parked on Madison Avenue or the aforementioned section of Myrtle
Boulevard on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of each week
between the hours of 8:00 AM (prevailing time) and 6:00 PM (prevailing time) only if the required
fee for parking is deposited into the meter that is assigned to the parking space in which such motor
vehicle is parked. This law shall not apply on holidays.
C. No motor vehicle can be parked in the locations specified in, and on the days and at the
times specified in section 219-3 B. for more than three (3) continuous hours on any day specified in
section 219-3 B.
Section 3 – Sign(s) to be Erected and Painting to be Done:
An appropriate sign or signs shall be erected on and/or above, and/or striping shall be
painted on the surface of Myrtle Boulevard and Madison Avenue indicating where and when the
parking meters are in effect.
Section 4 – Amendment of a section of the Code of the Town of Mamaroneck:
The Code of the Town of Mamaroneck hereby is amended by adding the following language to
section A250-1.
The schedule of fees and deposits for permits, licenses, applications and services shall be as
follows:

Section 5 – Severability:
Should any provision of this Local Law be declared invalid or unconstitutional by any court
of competent jurisdiction, such declaration of unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any
other provisions of this Local Law, which may be implemented without the invalid or
unconstitutional provisions.
Section 6 – Effective Date:
This Local Law shall become effective upon filing with the Secretary of State.
