HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986_09_12 Town Board Minutes MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK, HELD ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1985 IN THE AUDITORIUM OF THE WEAVER STREET FIREHOUSE, TOWN OF MAMARONECK The meeting was called to order at 8:15 p.m. by Supervisor Battalia. Present were the following: Supervisor Dolores A. Battalia Councilman Lee H. Bloom Councilwoman Caroline Silverstone Councilman Lawrence A. Lerman Also present were: Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator P. Thomas Leddy, Superintendent of Highways The Supervisor stated to the audience that the purpose of the meeting was to present the proposed plan for resurfacing and improving Griffen Avenue. The Supervisor recognized the presence of the Scarsdale Village Engineer Richard Haggblad who was present to assist in the presentation. The Town Administrator presented the plan which called for the planing and resurfacing of approximately one mile of Griffen Avenue from Old White Plains Road to the Scarsdale border. The Administrator also stated that alternatives were being evaluated for improving drainage on Griffen Avenue to prevent the same deterioration of the road which now exists. Residents of the area were present and asked that the Town and Village of Scarsdale consider the following matters: a) The banning of truck traffic on Griffen Avenue b) The installation of a footpath on Griffen Avenue c) Greater enforcement of speeding d) Painting a double yellow line for the entire length of Griffen Avenue to prevent passing. The Town Board will refer this matter to the Traffic Committee so that they may consider the appropriate ordinances for Griffen Avenue. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Stephen V. Altieri Town Administrator
